Hi! I'm Alex.

My Story
I started in the business as a songwriter and activist at the age of 12. While I've always loved creating music, the spotlight was never my home. My earliest creative endeavors involved writing music, teaching the arrangements to my baby sister, and sitting in the background at the piano- throwing in harmonies while she took center stage. Little did I know that she would be my first of hundreds of students. When she was cast in the Broadway National Tour of The Sound of Music at the age of 10, I began receiving client referrals from agents, managers, and casting directors. It didn't take long for me to fall in love with helping young (and some not-so-young) performers unlock their unique vocal gifts.
As I entered more spaces occupied by professional children, I saw a need for not just competent coaches, but for caring role models who nurtured the whole child. I continued to study music privately, while also getting a degree in Social Work to better meet the deeper needs of young performers. I do not take lightly the responsibility I have to invest intentionally in the artists that I work with, and it is my joy to help students realize their dreams daily!
The Victories
My students have been seen on Broadway and National Touring productions such as The Lion King, Frozen, Anastasia, Matilda, Caroline or Change, The Who's Tommy, Appropriate, Leopoldstadt, School of Rock, A Bronx Tale, Les Miserables, Tina, The King and I, and A Christmas Story. They can also be found on stage at the Met Opera, at prestigious regional theaters all over the country, developing new works, and in various films, TV shows, and Voiceovers.
While it is thrilling when students book big projects and I am always rooting for their victories, I also encourage performers not to measure their artistic worth on external success. Some of the most special gifts grow in the shadows!

The Rest of Life
When I'm not coaching, I'm soaking up every second of life with my family in our tiny Connecticut cottage. We can usually be found at the beach, hiking, picnicking, cooking, doing art projects, and playground hopping! It is not unusual for my little ones to make small appearances on Zoom or waiting outside the studio, and city-frolicking is their favorite thing!
